Had a couple good days this week and a couple not-so-good days.  Still barely showing at all but definitely still feeling the symptoms...bleh!  Kyle went on a quick over night trip to pick up a jet so I was able to do some antiquing with Brittany, Geoff, and Paige in Petaluma followed by a drive through San Francisco (where by the way I got a chocolate shake at Ghirardelli Square--i must say I'm normally not a fan of chocolate ice cream but boy was it yummy!)

Baby trip #2

Our second trip was to Bradenton, Florida for Christmas 2011.  Kyle actually got Christmas leave this year and it was his families year so we flew to Florida.  Four 3+hour flights were no fun for this pregnant girl though. :)
I felt pretty good for the trip down there.  The nurse told me vacations usually make you feel better if you've been sick.  She was right, I felt better than I had and definitely better there then when we got back.

While we were there we got to tell the Bateman's about the baby, see manatees, go to the beach, watch the sun set, visit the Ringling Circus Museum, and Kyle went gator hunting.  He was warned before he left that he DID have a child on the way and that I didn't want to have a fatherless baby!  We had a great time and here are a few pics:

manatees

kyle and me where the manatees hang out-they like it there because the power plant makes the water really warm

Baby Trip #1

I thought it would be fun to post pictures of where the baby went even when he/she was still in the tummy.

While my parents visited in December we took a short trip to see the Redwoods near San Francisco.  We first stopped in Sausalito for some yummy lunch on the water.  Best fish & chips ever!  If we had more time we would have checked out the cute little shops in Sausalito but that will have to be saved for another time.   After lunch we hit the redwoods and then Stinson Beach so mom could touch the Pacific Ocean.

At Muir Woods we did a bunch of walking on the trails in the park--no hiking but we saw the big trees!

the second month

So from the beginning we decided we wouldn't tell anyone we were pregnant until at least the end of the first trimester or the beginning of the second trimester...however...when your parents come to see you at 9 weeks when you're not feeling good it's hard to keep it a secret.  Also, we decided it would make Christmas more exciting this year if we told only our immediate family at that time.

I used this picture to tell everyone we were expecting..I modge podged a frame and put stickers spelling "arriving July 2012" on it.  I wrapped it up like an early Christmas present that I wanted them to open before we got busy working on things, cooking, site seeing, etc.

I gave the gift to my mom to open and she ripped into it so fast I almost didn't pull off the picture-but I'd say I got a pretty good reaction shot!

I'd just like to say first of all my mom never cries...never.  But I caught her off guard with this exciting news.  Dad was making of list of things he could work on around the house to keep busy.  He later told us at the end of the list he added....Nursery!

Telling my parents was a memory I will never forget...truly one of the best moments ever!

the first month

Well Month 1 was actually pretty fabulous...I was alone most of it because of course Kyle was gone but I felt great!  I was already starting the nesting process.  Having just quit my job working retail I was getting rid of clothes I didn't wear or won't ever wear again....and for those of you who don't know me I'm a keeper of everything.  Notice I didn't use the word hoarder because I'm horrified of how close I am to becoming one.  haha...not lately though, I've taken 2 car loads to goodwill this month...and I mean 2 full to the brim car loads.  I must admit...it felt good, real good!  Like I said before...let the nesting begin!

Suprise...we're pregnant!

After not trying too hard and letting it happen when it happens, I found myself pregnant!

I was about a week late and was just feeling different, not sick, just different.  I'm sure all you other mothers out there know the feeling.  I was nervous but excited to take a test to find out.  Sure enough it came out positive!  AND OF COURSE, Kyle was gone on a trip at the time so I was hoping to get a hold of him (for those of you who don't know--he was half way around the world and never answers his phone when gone...I just wait for him to call me).  I was sure he wouldn't answer so I called once, then twice, and on the third call he answered....I couldn't believe it!

I was shaking not only because I was excited but also because I had no idea how I was going to tell him...so I just blurted it out.  His first response..."who's the father?"  What a jerk...I couldn't believe he said that but then he immediately said, "That's so exciting!" followed by "maybe you should take another test to be sure."  He was so excited it made me more in love with him than ever before.

and so the story begins...
