25 Weeks

yep, starting to pop out!

I had my 24 week appointment last week and my blood pressure was a bit high so they wanted me to come in this week to get it tested again.  Well…it didn’t go as great as I had hoped…I had been checking my blood pressure at the gym all of last week and it was very normal so I kinda thought my high reading at my appointment was a fluke.  WRONG! I went in to get it checked on Monday and it had skyrocketed.  :(  The nurse even tested it 3 separate times…boo!  So, I had to be seen by a doc since it was so high.

Since I’m a glass half full kind of girl I’ll start with the good!  :)

The good:
-we will get to see little baby b on the ultrasound at least 3 more times than we would have to check on her growth due to my high blood pressure
-we will more than likely get to meet our little baby b a week or so early because they won’t let me go past 39 weeks

The bad:
-I’m officially considered a “high-risk pregnancy”
-might have to go on blood pressure medicine…will find out this week
-lots more trips to the hospital for close observation of me and baby’s growth
-could possibly develop pre-eclampsia…praying that doesn’t happen
-24 hour urine collection and more lab testing

The funny:
When the nurse took me back to the doctor’s office the doctor’s immediately response was, “dangit, you’re not fat and overweight…I was ready to give you the you’ve just gained too much weight speech!”
haha…I didn’t really know how to respond to that so I just said…”what does that mean?”

Then she went on to explain that I was really healthy and could actually gain some more weight and that my body just must respond to pregnancy with high blood pressure.  All in all she made me feel a bit better after explaining there was nothing I did wrong or could do different.

How far along?  25 weeks
Total weight gain:  +9 pounds!
Maternity clothes? Still only have a couple maternity tops that I wear with leggings or my regular jeans….Most of my jeans still fit but slightly uncomfortable so I do the ole rubber band trick…it works great!
Sleep:  sleep has been up and down this week…a couple horrible nights (one of those due to my 24 hour urine collection…it was awful) and a couple okay nights.
Stretch marks?  No…but feeling the tummy stretch is scaring me!
Miss anything?  Good sleep!
Movement:  Oh my, YES! She’s all over the place!
Food Cravings: fruit-especially strawberries from the strawberry patch!  Yummy
Funny story…I asked Kyle to get me a bowl of strawberries and to just fill it full and then he could eat some too.  So he brought them over to me and said just eat what you want and I’ll eat the rest.  Well, I ate what I wanted and handed him an empty bowl!  He laughed and said he thought he had put way too many in the bowl when he was scooping them out.  He was wrong…sorry, Kyle!
Anything making you sick or queasy:  actually…no
Gender:  she’s a girl!  And she might have a name…maybe!  Sorry, no telling until she arrives!  :)
Labor signs:  no way but I’m pretty sure I felt a leg trying to get out!  Haha :)
Symptoms: high blood pressure, I guess.  No bueno.
Belly Button in or out?  in
Wedding rings on or off?  on
Mood: so so so so so so happy!  I just get so giddy thinking about all the projects I want to work on and then I get even giddier (is that a word?) when I think about meeting her and holding her and seeing Kyle with her
Excitement this week: working on projects which I will post some pictures of later this week…hopefully!  OH AND WE ORDERED A CRIB…should be here this week!  Yay!
Looking forward to:  more projects, working on the nursery, and of course meeting little baby b

    1. You and your baby bump are too cute!! Love your shabby chic plans for the nursery! The baby hats & blankets are just adorable. Don't stress about the high blood pressure. You already take such good care of yourself & baby girl b. It's great you're at home so you can put your feet up a couple times a day. Sending my love & best thoughts to all 3 of you!

  3. Thanks Aunt Barb & Aunt Becky! Yes, the bump is definitely showing now! :) Thanks for the encouraging words...it means a lot! :) I will admit, though, I am pretty calm about all the blood pressure stuff...I think the part that may be stressing me out is the fact that the baby will be here in 3 months! :) Lots of stuff to do....but I have help on the way! :)
    Love you guys! xoxo
